Pioneering the PQNK Agricultural Model at Sialkot

With a deep personal commitment to environmental stewardship, Mr. Khawaja has emerged as a strong advocate for natural and regenerative agriculture. His engagement in this space began during the 2008–2009 Green Region Initiative launched by the State Bank of Pakistan and supported by the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). This regional program aimed to promote sustainable development across Sialkot, Daska, Gujranwala, and Pasrur.

Motivated by the urgent need to restore agricultural vitality, Mr. Khawaja began contributing both intellectually and practically. Around 2010, he participated in the Traceable Pakistan project, which focused on enhancing the export readiness of fruits and vegetables through improved agricultural standards. His visit to Germany’s Green Week—a global showcase of agricultural innovation—served as a turning point, inspiring him to expand his focus to sustainable farming practices alongside his industrial pursuits.

Although his initial efforts to integrate modern agricultural technology with conventional farming models faced challenges, a significant breakthrough occurred when he was introduced to Mr. Asif Sharif, the founder of PQNK (Paaidaar Qudrati Nizaam-e-Kashtkaari). Under Mr. Sharif’s mentorship, Mr. Khawaja embraced the PQNK philosophy and established a pilot showcase farm in Sialkot, aimed at demonstrating the potential of natural farming techniques to local farmers. The initiative was met with wide appreciation and has since served as a local model for ecological agriculture.

In 2024, Mr. Khawaja connected with Mr. Naseer Ahmed, a seasoned advocate of sustainable farming. Their shared values and vision led to a strategic partnership, grounded in the leadership of Mr. Asif Sharif. Together, they launched a PQNK Service Provider Company on a trial basis. The goal: to assist farmers in transitioning to natural, regenerative agricultural practices and to amplify the reach and impact of the PQNK movement. With conviction and long-term vision, the team plans to scale this model nationwide in the near future, Insha’Allah.

Leadership Beyond Business

Mr. Khawaja’s influence extends far beyond industrial leadership. He is a Founding Director of Sialkot International Airport, a groundbreaking public-private partnership and a milestone in regional infrastructure development.

The Vision Behind PQNK and the Development of the Crop Production Management Model

Inception of Abt Crop Production Management Company

The concept of a Crop Production Management Company was originally envisioned by Mr. Asif Sharif, founder of PQNK (Paaidaar Qudrati Nizaam-e-Kashtkaari), with the primary goal of supporting both farmers and consumers in Pakistan through nature-aligned agricultural solutions.

In 2024, Mr. Sharif shared this transformative idea with Mr. Naseer Ahmed, Founder & CEO of Abt Consulting Firm, with a vision to scale and implement the model across the country.

Inspired by Mr. Sharif’s decades-long commitment to regenerative farming, the leadership at Abt Consulting embraced the concept wholeheartedly. Following a series of collaborative discussions and strategic planning sessions, the firm was formally restructured into Abt Crop Production Management Company, founded on the guiding principle:

"Improve the soil, not the plant."

This collaboration marks a significant step toward reshaping Pakistan’s agricultural future through sustainable practices, farmer empowerment, and consumer well-being.
